Reiki is believed to have originated in Tibet several thousands of years ago. Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered the system and spent over twenty years developing symbols and sounds that are linked directly to the human body and nervous system which, reactivate the universal life force energy for healing. Dr. Usui passed on this gift to several people who in turn passed it to others and so now it is widely practised throughout the western world.

Reiki is based on the principle that everything contains energy , from the trees outside your window to the sandwich you eat at lunchtime. Everything in the universe has energy including you and me. When we are born we are freely connected to this universal energy. However, throughout life's ups and downs this energy decreases as life conditioning occurs. As children become adults this energy diminishes further as a result of a range of mental, emotional and physical experiences that happen on a daily basis.

During a reiki treatment the individual is reconnected to pure energy that flowed freely through them as children and unblocks all of these mind and body conditions that can manifest into a range of inhibiting challenges. This is why reiki has so many amazing results for so many people from all walks of life.
